FIRE PREVENTION PROGRAMS

Fire prevention is our top priority. Each year we visit more than 1,000 kids in the elementary schools, day cares, and on tours with fire prevention classes. We are available for presentations to any organization.

Youth Prevention Program for Firesetters

Do you know children who are curious about setting fires? The Parsons Fire Department offers a prevention program for Youth Firesetters. This program is targeted at younger children who set curiosity fires. Our goal is to intervene, and educate this curious population so their first fires will be their last.

A Smoke Detector for Every Home

For the past 15 years, it has been a department goal to make available free smoke detectors to every residence in Parsons. Each year the fire department installs nearly 100 smoke detectors at no cost. Since the beginning of the program, we have distributed and installed more than 1,400 smoke detectors. There is a limit of two smoke detectors per home. Call 620-421-7050 to request the installation of smoke detectors.
